My party finally made it to this location, so I can upload
it here! All made with stuff from the Dundjinni forums, so
I cannot thank you all enough for all you do.
An abandoned (magical) observatory on a small, rocky island
approachable from only one direction. The map features
three levels, as well as removable features. On the ground
level, the map can be seen either with or without the glass
dome. Similarly, there is a secret room behind a cracked
wall to the east in the basement level.
These are made for Roll20, and in game I send move those
pieces between the map level and GM level to hide/reveal
them. These are designed to be 40x20 square, 2800x1400 px
maps.
I also crack up the maps into sections to make them easier
to upload and faster to load in Roll20; let me know if you
want the whole thing in one whack and I'll upload that.
Our in-game story has mages and scholars abandoning the
island, then squatters moving in afterward before the party
arrives.
Still figuring out how to do a lot of stuff in GIMP so if
anyone has any feedback or advice, I'm always appreciative.

Basement level, with secret room to the east. (There is one
column of the map that is completely black unless the
secret room is shown. I've only uploaded one black square.
In fact for Roll20 this could be a black square of any
size. Don't know why I didn't think of that before and just
use a single black pixel or something.)

Well done. Very creative gaming ideas.
Adding wall shadows can give your maps more depth.

Oh duh. Of course. Don't know why that didn't occur to me.
Thanks!
