Howdy everyone,

I have been mostly a longtime lurker and occasional poster round these parts (I lost my login information for my old account - started this one last year). I put together a computer system last year with the hopes of doing campaign development. One of my biggest criteria for the system was that it would run Dundjinni. I've posted about this elsewhere, and I seem to have circumvented many of the problems I was having using a 17 year old Macintosh...

It took awhile to the stars to align, but I started working on the Gygax 75 challenge a couple of weeks ago (https://rayotus.itch.io/gygax75) - I've been posting about it on my blog (www.creepatorium.com)

I needed an overland map for the challenge, and whereas I'm having some issues exporting it at full resolution (it is an OLD computer, LOL) - I easily generated a smaller jpeg image. I did some touch-ups in Photoshop, and eventually filtered it through Comic Life.

This was made using Darkness' Campaign Pack, available in the community downloads area. This is my first completed Dundjinni map in years, and definitely my most ambitious.

Edit: I have yet to label it, but I do that within Comic Life. The box will be sort of a key to the area.

Very impressive!

I don't even recognize anything from Darkness' Campaign Pack.

Is Comic Life used mostly for filters and labels, then?

"a 17 year old Macintosh"

Wow! That's like 25, in PC years, LOL!

Thanks!

Comic Life is a layout program for comics of all types - it's come a long way since the version I'm using here (2, version 3 is more fully featured). It does a good job with RPG stuff, at least in my experience. I don't really like labelling in Dundjinni, especially since I'm filtering it through Photoshop and Comic Life.

I used the terrain items from Darkness and layered pretty heavily, I didn't use any of the B&W stuff.

And, heruca, I'm not only on an old Mac - but it's pre-Intel. I also have a similar era PC, mostly for flashing video cards for retro-Macs. These old PPC towers still have some life in them, LOL.

Hey, I have some free virtual tabletop software for you, if you're interested. The Mac versions
only run on pre-Intel Macs, or Macs running Snow Leopard or earlier.

LOL, I actually downloaded Battlegrounds a year or so ago and contacted them about how pleased I was to see a PPC VTT still around. It's certainly a nice looking VTT for the age.

Sadly, I am just not sure that the old Ethernet connection is robust enough to make that pleasant at all. It might be, as I can still use most of the internet with my old beast. I'm likely to port all of this work to my modern iMac and run Fantasy Grounds.

I have also been experimenting with a web based chat application, mRPG, but it isn't quite at a point where it's 'there' (Fantasy Grounds Unity is also 'not there' yet - lots of bugs in beta testing).
