After speaking to Melina about the future of Dundjinni we have decided on a course of action.

The development of Dundjinni 2.0 should be starting soon.

Phase 1: Right now we are in the negotiation phase with Melinda McCauley (President of Dundjinni Enterprises) of the transfer of ownership and who is involved and how is will be structured etc. Right now it looks like the new entity controlling Dundjinni will be non-profit. A new company with a new name will be formed.

Phase 2: Once this new entity is created and setup we will then go into phase 2 which is organizing resources and figuring out how we want Dundjinni 2.0 to roll out and in what format.

phase 3 will be a restructuring of the web presence and devloping the 2.0 Software which will more than likely have a Kickstarter element to fund the software changes.

Phase 4 will see the web changes made, art packs and store front reorganized and 2.0 software being written and tested.

Phase 5 will see a beta release and would be available only for kickstarter backers.

Phase 6 is 2.0 completion and up for sale on the web store.

Phase 7 PR and marketing will occur here is time and money allows.

We are currently in phase 1 so please be patient. At this point I will no set any dates as it is too soon in the development process. Thank you.

I've necroed a thread in the feedback section which, I believe has great simmple suggestions for version 2 :
Here

I hope to be a kickstarter backer eventually. Dundjinni really needed this years ago and I'm happy to see it happen!

Uncertain whether to use Kickstarter, Indieagogo, or other crowd-funder although Kickstarter is definitely on our shortlist.

I heartily agree with this...I am a supporter of Dundjinni and have purchased the
original and still use it to this day. A new version would be excellent as there
is still not a comparable alternative.

Oh, my gosh! I joined the forum months ago (after getting account activated) and fell off the face of the earth as I lost my job and have been devoting my time away from hobbies and into stabilizing once again. I finally level out, check out the forums to begin my journey into map making, and see this thread. Dundjinni 2.0? A version that is new and can be purchased? I cannot wait!

Very exciting! Glad to hear this is happening. I'm a fan of Kickstarter,
mainly from use. Whichever platform, I'm sure you will be successful with
a strong upgrade to an already good program and community.

Cheers, Eric

Yes!!!

Please use Kickstarter - its is the most recognized and
easiest to use IMHO.

Can't wait to see Dundjini back in action!!!

May I assume there will be no incentive pricing for previous owners but it WILL work with windows 10?

The assumption is it will be set up to run on current windows versions and hopefully future ones. Dan is still trying to work with Mindy so nothing is set in stone yet.

keep your fingers crossed.

Yes! I am so happy to hear something is underway to revived DJ development. I am anxiously awaiting the opportunity to support the effort.

You need to reinstall the 1.0.7 version. ( The full install not the upgrade ) If you have windows 8 you should upgrade that to Win 10, if you have Win7 you are all set.

So if I have an older version how do I get a full version to avoid the upgrades? Is there a place to download it and put my registration number in?

If you bought it from the DundJinni online store at this website, and you still have your store login info, the store will allow you to download (for free) the current versions of anything you previously purchased. If you bought it elsewhere, or don't have the login info, then you can get most of it from Kepli ( kepli dot sire at yahoo dot com ) There are a few artpacks he does not have copies of. You will of course need all your original registration key numbers to install. You can get them from the store if you can log in, but we have no access to that info.

I have to say that this is SUPER exciting. :) I'm
getting back into being more involved with my gaming
since joining Pathfinder Society here in my local area
and wanting to be more active using BRPG.

Anything I can do to help please let me know. :)
