Download the set: HERE

-------------------------------

Something new I'm working on, inspired by this boardgame illustration by Henning Ludvigsen.

Not sure how many tiles I'm going to make for this, but I've got 11 so far, including an empty grass tile that matches the base texture of the board and all the other tiles. There are also a couple variations of the empty tile, with scattered flowers. These can be used for open areas and for making/populating your own tiles.

I'm also going to include several different boards in various sizes (number of tile slots), but you can also crop the largest one down to whatever size/number and shape you want (square or rectangular).

Here's a small preview of one of the smaller boards with all of the tiles I've made so far:

And here's a few of the tiles at full resolution, so you can see the details.

Great stuff

Are these tileable in all directions?

Thanks Kepli.

Only if they're flipped and mirrored.

A 60-degree rotation won't be seamless, but it doesn't look too bad. If you really wanted to position them like that, it would be really quick and easy to fix the seams with the clone brush (in a image editing program, after your map's been assembled and merged into a single layer), or cover them over with other mapping elements, overlays, etc.

Keep meaning to have a solo wander-the-wilderness-killing -things type game, for which these tiles would
be perfect. Flip them as you head in a particular direction. For that type of game rotation doesn't matter
except if rivers / roads link. The hexes I've seen on the net have been too rudimentary (or too few) to be
worthwhile. These, though, are big enough and pretty enough to make a game work!

Look forward to more postings!

Thanks PB!

I'd like to include some options for roads/paths and rivers, but I'm not sure how difficult it's going to be...getting them to match up properly. I'm going to try fiddling with that tomorrow and see how it goes.

Great Job!
I think these are the first time I've seen my new houses get used!

Thanks Bogie! Those houses look wonderful. I'm going to be using more of them for these tiles.

A few more previews:

I think I'll do just a few more and then release them as a starter set in a few days. Then work on an expansion set with roads and rivers. That way you can start playing with them now, in case it takes me a while to do the rest.

This would also be a really nice way to recreate the overland maps of old school DnD modules (or the newer Kingmaker adventure path from Paizo). We would just need a bit more variety, perhaps your above mentioned roads and rivers and perhaps some hills and mountains.
