Fluid Announces New Map and Adventure Software targeted at Game Masters

Fluid Entertainment, software developers of the Dungeons & Dragons 3rd Edition Character Generator and eTools, announced today the upcoming release of Dundjinni. Dundjinni allows users to create and print professional-looking maps and adventures using their personal computers.

Created by an experienced team of videogame developers and artists, Dundjinni combines a user-friendly, point-and-click interface with sophisticated graphics and d20 statistical capabilities.

With a broad variety of textures and objects, as well as the ability to import user artwork, Dundjinni gives the GM a large palette to create customized maps and adventures.

Fluid plans to further supplement the product with specialized art packs that span different settings, (castle, village, etc.) and genres (sci-fi, urban, etc.), as well as free weekly downloads posted on the Dundjinni website.

At the recent Gen Con So Cal, Fluid handed out an exceptional example of the product’s capabilities. The 18”x24” double-sided map sparked a large amount of excitement by convention goers and publishers alike. A scaled-down version is posted on their website.

Character and monster tokens based on licensed Reaper miniatures are included in the product. Additionally, Fluid is negotiating with several leading industry publishers to not only license in further d20 content, but also to license out the software and map creation content for inclusion in third party campaign and adventure settings. “We hope to create a digital companion to the industry brands we all respect and enjoy,” Scott Mathews (President, Fluid Entertainment) said.

The product is slated for release in Q1 of 2004, and a demo will be available on the Dundjinni website just prior to the holiday. While it is finishing up development, Fluid plans to keep the website stocked with free downloads and product previews.

Dundjinni will ship in three versions – a base (“silver”) version that includes mapping utilities only, an enhanced (“gold”) version that additionally includes the stat and adventure utilities, and a deluxe (“platinum”) version which adds on supplemental art packs. Prices will range accordingly.

Further details and downloads are available on the Dundjinni web site at:
